- All staff and volunteers working with children undergo thorough background checks, including reference checks and criminal record checks, to ensure their suitability to work with minors.

 

- We strictly adhere to the guidelines and laws related to child protection and safeguarding, taking appropriate actions to report any concerns or incidents to the relevant authorities.

 

**2. Safe Environment:**

 

- Our dance studio facilities are designed with safety in mind, adhering to all necessary safety standards and regulations.

 

- Regular safety inspections are conducted to identify and address any potential hazards or risks in the dance studio.

 

**3. Health and Safety:**

 

- We maintain comprehensive health and safety guidelines, ensuring the safety of our students during dance classes and performances.

 

- Instructors and staff are trained to provide first aid assistance, and emergency procedures are in place in case of accidents or injuries.

 

**4. Code of Conduct:**

Dani Grant School of Dance Safeguarding Policy 

 

Dani Grant School of Dance is committed to creating a safe and secure environment for all children, young people, and vulnerable adults who attend our dance school. This Safeguarding Policy outlines our commitment to safeguarding their welfare and promoting their well-being.

 

**Policy Statement:**

 

1. We recognize that the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults is of paramount importance, and we are dedicated to protecting them from harm, abuse, and exploitation.

 

2. We aim to provide a nurturing and inclusive dance environment where all participants can enjoy their dance experience free from any form of harm or abuse.

 

3. We acknowledge that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and all staff, volunteers, parents, and students must be vigilant in recognizing and reporting any concerns regarding the welfare of individuals attending our dance school.

 

**Key Principles:**

 

1. **Safer Recruitment:** All staff, volunteers, and contractors working with children and vulnerable adults will undergo thorough recruitment checks, including enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks, as required by law.

 

2. **Child and Adult Protection Training:** All staff and volunteers will receive regular safeguarding training to raise awareness of potential safeguarding issues and understand their responsibilities.

 

3. **Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL):** We have appointed a designated staff member who will act as the DSL and be the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns.

 

4. **Reporting Concerns:** Any safeguarding concerns will be promptly reported to the DSL or the appropriate authorities as per statutory guidelines and local safeguarding protocols.

 

5. **Confidentiality:** Information regarding safeguarding concerns will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and shared only with those who need to know, in accordance with data protection legislation.

 

6. **Codes of Conduct:** We have clear codes of conduct for staff, volunteers, parents, and students to promote appropriate behavior and boundaries.

 

7. **Risk Assessment:** We regularly assess and mitigate potential risks to the welfare of participants during dance activities, events, and performances.

 

8. **Parental Consent:** Written parental consent will be obtained for any activities or events that may involve children beyond normal class routines.

 

**Procedures:**

 

1. **Reporting Concerns:** Any safeguarding concerns will be reported to the DSL immediately.

 

2. **Record Keeping:** Detailed records will be kept of safeguarding concerns, actions taken, and any communication with relevant agencies.

 

3. **Information Sharing:** We will share relevant information with appropriate agencies as required by law and in accordance with safeguarding protocols.

 

4. **Multi-Agency Approach:** We will work in partnership with other agencies and organizations to safeguard the welfare of individuals attending our dance school.

 

**Review and Monitoring:**
